FCAI has begun preparations for the first major review of the New Vehicle Efficiency Standard, which is expected to commence during the final quarter of 2026.
The review will provide an important opportunity to assess the practical operation of the NVES, including its effect on vehicle availability, affordability, consumer choice and the industry’s capacity to meet increasingly stringent emissions targets.
The CO2 Working Group will gather member views on the operation of the scheme as we look to the scheme’s post-2029 operation.
