FCAI has awarded Life Membership to Paul Burleigh in recognition of his longstanding and distinguished service to the Australian automotive industry.
Paul joined Nissan 36 years ago and built extensive experience in customs, shipping and vehicle logistics. Through his professional responsibilities, he became closely involved in many of the operational and regulatory issues affecting the importation of new vehicles into Australia.
He joined the FCAI Vehicle Logistics Committee 33 years ago and served as its chair for more than 20 years. During that period, he helped guide the industry through major changes in port operations, customs processes, tariff arrangements and Australia’s biosecurity requirements.
Paul’s expertise was particularly valuable during discussions with government agencies, port authorities and other participants in the vehicle supply chain. His detailed understanding of logistics allowed him to represent the industry’s interests effectively at local, national and international levels.
FCAI Life Membership recognises individuals who have provided exceptional service to the organisation and the wider automotive industry. It is a significant honour that reflects both the duration of a person’s service and the quality and lasting value of their contribution.
FCAI congratulates Paul on his Life Membership and thanks him for his sustained contribution to the organisation, its members and the Australian automotive industry.
