The Automotive Jobs and Skills Council, AUSMASA, is seeking expressions of interest for its Automotive Strategic Workforce Advisory Panel (SWAP).
The SWAP is an instrumental forum to gather automative industry insights to steer improvements in Vocational Education and Training (VET) automotive training packages (update of existing training products, or creation of new products and/or qualifications).
The current SWAP does not have any OEM representation despite:
- no one being better placed than the brands to understand the products that are brought to our market and what skills are required to ensure appropriate maintenance and repairs.
- brands increasingly relying on VET qualifications as some brands require their franchised technicians to hold specific VET qualifications, while others develop their own training framework but increasingly need to align with the VET qualifications to facilitate OEM training recognition.
FCAI members are strongly encouraged to nominate their relevant representatives (most likely their national training manager or equivalent position).
SWAP members are selected for a two-year term at a time, for a maximum of two terms. Your organisation does not need to be a member of AUSMASA to nominate for the SWAP, but AUSMASA membership is free and non-committal.
Applications are open until 17 September through this webpage.
