The national Vehicle-Generated Data working group continues to bring together OEMs and road agencies with a focus on outcomes relating to road safety and traffic efficiency.
This working group, facilitated by the National Transport Commission, is a national forum for advancing the road safety benefits of sharing vehicle and transport data. Its members will seek out opportunities and strategic pathways for vehicle generated and road transport data to support positive road safety outcomes.
The goals of the working group are:
- To build relationships between governments, OEMs and data aggregators.
- To develop a common, trusted understanding of vehicle generated and road transport data sources and data flows.
- To foster collaboration in identifying and realizing opportunities to improve road safety with data.
It is co-chaired by representatives from both the OEM and road agency sides. Further background information can be found on the NTC website.
This discussion on data sharing matters specifically in the context of ANCAP considering rewarding such data sharing capabilities in 2026 or later protocols.
Brand representatives interested in this matter should contact Richard Delplace, FCAI Director of Emerging Technologies and are invited to join the FCAI Connected, Cooperative and Automated Vehicle working group.
