Vehicle to Grid and Vehicle to Home technologies are evolving from emerging concepts to strategic considerations for the automotive and energy sectors.
The capacity to utilise EV battery storage for domestic backup power or grid stabilisation presents a potential value proposition that may support EV uptake. However, large scale deployment involves technical, regulatory and commercial complexity.
The FCAI has commenced engagement with the Vehicle Grid Network, a three-year initiative led by Climate KIC Australia and the University of Technology Sydney with ARENA sponsorship. Participation will ensure that member perspectives inform emerging technical standards and policy settings in this space.
