The next meeting of the FCAI Aftersales Committee will be held on Tuesday 28 October at Nissan’s offices in Mulgrave, Victoria. The session will bring together representatives from across the industry to discuss key issues affecting aftersales operations, technical training and repair standards.
The agenda for this meeting will focus on several important topics currently shaping the aftersales environment. Members will receive updates on the progress of the Motor Vehicle Information Sharing (MVIS) legislation, as well as ongoing work to strengthen automotive repair skills and qualifications across the sector. There will also be dedicated discussions on the challenges posed by counterfeit parts, the appropriate use of recycled components, and measures to address vehicle theft.
External contributors will join the meeting to provide specialist insights. Representatives from Hicron and OEConnection will present on digital and supply chain solutions that support efficiency, transparency and compliance in the aftermarket space. Their presentations will provide practical examples of how new technology can help manufacturers and dealers meet growing consumer and regulatory expectations.
In addition, experts from the EV Centre of Excellence will take part in a panel discussion on the recognition of OEM training programs, particularly in light of possible state-based vocational education and training (VET) requirements for electric vehicle repair.
