This submission has been prepared in response to the Commonwealth Consumer Affairs Advisory Council’s (CCAAC) July 2009 Issues Paper, Consumer rights – Statutory implied conditions and warranties. Australian consumers have access to significant protections through the provision of warranties, statutory rights and legal remedies in the event that a motor vehicle is defective or not fit for purpose.
