The Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FCAI) welcomes the Coalition's announcement today that it will oppose the Rudd Government's proposal to eliminate the FBT statutory formula method for salary-sacrificed and employer-provided cars, and it will not introduce this measure if it wins Government at the election.
"This is a positive development after a difficult week for the Australian automotive industry," FCAI Chief Executive Tony Weber said.
"Long-term policy certainty is vital for motor vehicle importers and domestic manufacturers, and other connected elements of the industry, including dealers, component suppliers and the finance sector."
