RED TAPE REDUCTION TO HELP NSW BUSINESSES ADAPT TO FUTURE CHALLENGES

8th October, 2018

The Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FCAI) has welcomed the announcement by the NSW Minister for Innovation and Better Regulation, Matt Kean, of measures to lessen the burden the regulatory burden on small automotive businesses.

The package is forecast to save the sector approximately $175 million in antiquated compliance costs over the coming decade, including licensing.  FCAI Chief Executive Tony Weber congratulated the NSW Government for these forward-looking measures:

“Modern businesses require flexibility to thrive in the ever-changing automotive industry landscape” Mr Weber said.

“As the industry adapts to new technologies and changing consumer preferences, it is essential that regulatory environments keep pace with these developments.

“Sectors cannot regulate their way to prosperity, and the changes announced by Minister Kean will enable innovative and agile businesses to thrive in the modern economy and ultimately benefit consumers in the long run” Mr Weber added.
